PRE ASSESSMENT DISCOVERY CALL.


This 20 minute pre assessment video call is the first step in the consultation process.


The aim of the call is to understand what your behaviour concerns are, listen to your goals, and help you decide whether a full behavioural assessment is the right next step for you and your dog or cat.

After our call, you’ll receive a brief follow-up email outlining the information needed to proceed with a full behaviour assessment.


This fee is fully deductible from the cost of a full behaviour assessment if you book within 4 weeks of the call.

Behaviour Assessment PACKAGE


  WHAT'S INCLUDED:


  • Review of clinical history sent over by the referring Veterinary Surgeon,  client behaviour questionnaire and psychometric tools analysis if indicated. 
  • Review of suggested video footage prior to in person consultation depending on case requirements.
  • A consultation lasting approximately 1 1/2 - 2 hours (this depends on the complexity of the referral).
  • PLEASE NOTE: for all human-directed aggression cases, the initial consultation will be done over Zoom.


What to expect during the assessment


  • Explanation and likely differential diagnosis for presenting behaviour problem.
  • The impact any potential health conditions may have on the behaviours seen.
  • Goal setting; discussing your expectations and what can realistically be achieved. 
  • Introduction of behaviour management and modification programme, offering. recommendations for your animal’s environment, adjustments that we can make to limit the behaviour problem from being repeated.
  • Training cues needed to help alter their emotional response and bring about changes in their behaviour.
  • Discussion around adjuvant therapies, pheromones, nutraceuticals and medications that may be indicated in your pet’s treatment plan. 


What to expect post assessment


  • Written report detailing the discussed information, highlighting the reasons for the behaviour, legal responsibilities, risk assessment, management strategies,  instructions for implementing a behaviour modification plan with video guided training cues, suggested monitoring and follow up programme. 
  • Written communication with the referring Veterinary Surgeon.
  • A 30 minute call four weeks following the initial behaviour assessment to review progress and determine what type of follow up is needed.
  • 8 weeks email support and guidance on what further follow up is needed.


All consultations must be paid for at least 48 hours prior to appointment otherwise will potentially be cancelled or postponed.


  • The cost covers all addresses within a  20 mile radius of BT18. Additional travel is possible but will incur travel cost.
  • If your pet is insured, check with the insurance company as you may be able to claim for behaviour therapy as I am a full member of the APBC and a registered ABTC veterinary behaviourist and clinical animal behaviourist.


Canine Behaviour Assessment:  £485

Feline Behaviour Assessment:    £400


BEHAVIOUR FOLLOW UP CONSULTATIONS

It may be necessary that for complex behaviour issues that you require additional support. The number of sessions required depends on your individual need.

Single video follow up consultation 30 Mins: £75

  • 30 minute follow up consultation organised via zoom or microsoft teams.
  • Suitable to review how the modification plan is going and discuss medications if indicated.
  • I would recommend this as a follow on consultation for patients who are started on psychopharmacological medication with the plan to review how they are coping with medication every 3 months.
  • Booked within 6 months from the initial behaviour assessment.
  • Email follow up detailing next steps for you and your veterinary team. .


In person follow up consultation £250

  • 60 minute in person visit.
  • Booked within 6 months of the behaviour assessment.
  • Email follow up detailing next steps for you and your veterinary team. .

An invoice will be sent 48 hours before the consultation and payment is requested at this point.


Additional support requested for the same behavioural issues more than 6 months after the behaviour assessment  or consultations requested at any time for any other condition, will be treated separately and charged at the original price.



Puppy Consultation 

 suitable for pups aged 8 - 16 weeks of age

These sessions are great at helping you understand what your pup needs!


What's included:

  • 2 hour session, which can be arranged as 1 session or divided into 2
  • These sessions are also suitable on Zoom or Microsoft Teams
  • The first hour will help you to understand what it means to be a dog!
  • We will look at:
  • Canine body language
  • How our dogs learn
  • How we build emotional resilience
  • The second hour will focus on practical considerations looking at:
  • Teaching appropriate socialisation
  • Settling at night
  • House training
  • How to be left alone
  • How to prevent cute puppy behaviours becoming troublesome teenage issues!


You will be given a comprehensive written summary of everything discussed that you can then refer to whenever you need!
